Our CBG flower isn't the same as what you're seeing start to flood the market. As a family farm, we aren't mass producing our flower, but rather, we are cultivating, curing, and trimming it all with the utmost care. You can see the difference in the look, taste, smoke, and of course, how it makes you feel.
What is CBG?
CBG is short for cannabigerol, which is one of many cannabinoids or molecules produced uniquely by the cannabis plant. CBG is known as the "Mother of all Cannabinoids" because CBGA, the acidic precursor to CBG, is the genesis of three major cannabinoid lines, including CBD and THC. Similar to CBD and unlike THC, CBG is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn't have a strong effect on cognitive brain activity and doesn't cause the "high" associated with marijuana. In fact, if grown properly (which we do, of course!), it's also known for having little to no THC. It's also known for the entourage effect, meaning it can enhance the effects of other cannabinoids. Pretty sweet, right?
CBG flower comes from female hemp plants which are bred explicitly to contain very high levels of CBG (cannabigerol) and little to no THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The highest concentration of CBG is in the hemp flowers.
We harvest our CBG flowers directly from the hemp plants, then we hang and dry them to preserve the terpenes and flavor profile. After that, they go through an extensive curing process that can take up to four months. Like an aged fine wine the CBG flower develops a higher quality smoke the longer it is cured.
Why smoke CBG flower?
Smoking CBG flower is one of the fastest delivery methods of cannabigerol to the body. When smoke is inhaled and CBG comes into contact with the lungs it transfers straight into the bloodstream. This makes smoking high-CBG hemp the fastest way to feel the effects of CBG, instead of waiting up to an hour to feel the effect of edibles or other methods.
